Dad, say it plain: βWe're starting something new. Every night, I'm coming to each of your rooms for a few minutes β just you and me β to read a verse, talk for a minute, and pray. Not a lecture. Not school. Just us and God, to close the day.β
Keep it quick β a sentence or two each. One thing you're thankful for today and one thing you want God to help with this week. If it helps, start with these:
Dad, you too: answer both out loud yourself. They'll do what they see, not what they're told.
π Tomorrow each of you gets your own sheet β one page, your whole week on it, Wednesday through Sunday. It lives in YOUR room.
π Every night Dad comes to you. You read the verse out loud, we answer that night's question, we pray, and you check the box. Your sheet, your streak.
β Sunday night you circle your favorite night of the week at the bottom.
β±οΈ It's short β about as long as brushing your teeth. Even on tired nights we still do a short version. We don't skip.
Go around once more: each person says one sentence β βThank You, God, for ___β or βPlease help ___.β Dad, you close with their asks all together, then say the blessing over all four of them:
βMay the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and give you peace.β β Numbers 6:24β26
That's it. Sheets start tomorrow (Wednesday). See you in your rooms. π
